2017 Jeep Cherokee Spied

2017 Jeep Cherokee Spied

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee has been spied  for the first time.
These photos were taken while this Cherokee was on test in Michigan.  Although it is quite heavily camouflaged and styling changes are hard to pinpoint it appears to have retained its front end pretty much as is.
This isn’t really surprising as Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently intimated because the overall styling is spot on this model would retain its polarizing looks. Unless Jeep have some secret plans to do otherwise I would say Mike’s comment is spot on.
Jeep designers have never been too keen on constantly changing body styles, and this makes sense in the SUV market.

If rumours and speculation have an element of truth then chances are Jeep are looking more at improved economy and performance particularly with the Cherokee.
It is possible the Cherokee could be offered with a new 4 cylinder engine,  with the possibility of a higher performing Trackhawk model which could be using the Dodge Dart SRT turbocharged engine.
Whatever happens it is going to be interesting as SUV manufacturers worldwide are all going for gold to increase their market share as SUV popularity continues to grow.
Even luxury car manufacturers are joining in.  Some such as Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Lamborghini, Lexus, Cadillac have been in the market for some time, with new recent additions being Bentley and Jaguar.
But when it comes to off-roading or handling the rough stuff the Jeep will still rule.

This facelift Jeep Cherokee is scheduled to be introduced in the second quarter of 2016, so expect to learn more in the coming months.
